Gluten Free - Dairy Free - Refined Sugar Free
This is a wonderful way to get that rich flavor of chocolate milk without all the refined sugars and unnecessary additives that come in the store bought versions. Opting to use unrefined raw cacao powder, over commonly used refined cocoa powder, ensures that you'll get a fresh, creamy, rich chocolate flavor with added health benefits. Raw cacao is a mineral-rich powerhouse filled with magnesium and antioxidants to calm the body and keep fighting on your behalf.

Prep: 5 minutes
Makes: 16 oz.
- 2 cups unsweetened, dairy free milk of choice
- 2 Tbs. raw cacao
- Sweetener of choice: 1 - 2 soaked, pitted dates -or- 1 - 2 tsp. honey/maple syrup
- Pinch sea salt
- Optional: 1 tsp. maca powder
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until fully mixed (~30 second).
Storage: keep in a sealed glass container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Storage: freeze for future use (leave 1" headspace to prevent the jar from cracking), just shake before drinking. Freezing in ice cube trays is also a nice option, so that you have chocolate cubes on hand for smoothies or snacking.
Snack Attack: keep some chocolate milk on hand for those times when you're craving a sweet snack. A few sips of this and it will help curb cravings.
